Tiffany and Tyler, the husband-and-wife team behind the well-known boudoir studio, were looking for a redesign for their portfolio website. They had struggled to grow their SEO reach, even though their blog was consistently updated, and they felt the out-of-the-box theme they purchased was too hard to update and change.
Tyler had built and maintained their previous website, but he felt like the redesign would take a lot of time because purchased themes and templates take a lot of tweaking in order to look as good as the sample live previews they use as a sales tool.
We worked together to really dig into the areas of their brand they wanted to lean into for this redesign. Their previous palette was very light and bright, leaning into portfolio images to do the heavy lift. The site had not aged well, in a current time where the Google algorithm wants some content to index the site in search results.
Their photography is dark, moody and feels very rich and evocative of film noir. So we went dark for this site! With a rich charcoal background, gold accents and ornate typography reminiscent of the gilded age, the site features an email collector automation that offers a sultry boudoir playlist in Spotify, a portfolio area and a blog with best tips for your next session.
